WHAT MAKES THIS WINE UNIQUE?
This is an organic wine of place made from grapes grown in the Valdeviñas vineyards within the region of Bierzo.

GRAPE:
100% Mencia. Organically grown vines planted since 1900. Vines tended in slate and clay soil from 650 m (2,132 ft) elevation.

VINIFICATION AND AGING:
Foot treading of whole clusters takes place in clay amphorae from Villarobledo. After post-fermentation maceration for 6 months, the juice is gently pressed. The wine then spends 12 months aged on its lees in neutral French oak.

LOCATION, SOIL, CLIMATE:
The grapes are grown in the Valdeviñas vineyards located in Molinaseca within the region of Bierzo. The soil is composed of slate and clay. The average elevation of the vineyards is 650 m (2,132 ft). Temperature from April to October averages 20C (68F) with annual rainfall of 800mm (31.5").
